Woody Houseman, MFT, LMFT became a licensed therapist
three years ago after retiring from 30 years in public education.
For three years he worked as a therapist at Lansing Correctional
Facility, where he also serves on the Crisis Resolution Team (Hostage
Negotiations Team).
Woody completed his Masters Degree in Family Therapy at Friends
University. His Educational training includes a B.S. from Friends
University, a M.Ed. at Wichita State University and a Ph.D. in Educational
Psychology at the University of Kansas. He completed his Clinical
work at Lawrence Catholic Charities and Wanamaker Woods Counseling
Services.
He has continued his training to become a certified Sexual Addiction
Therapist with additional training in Hypnotherapy and Critical
Incident Stress.
Woody provides services to individuals, couples and families. In
addition, he is very concerned about help for those with sexual
addictions; working with those who repeatedly use a significant
amount of time planning, preparing for, fantasizing about, or acting
out sexual behaviors or activities. This includes working with those
who spend exorbitant amounts of time looking at pornography, which
can have severe impact on the family.

He has worked with individuals of a number of different faiths and
is always accepting and supportive of individual spiritual beliefs.
With extensive experience in guided imagery, relaxation, stress
reduction, meditation, spirituality and hypnotherapy he often uses
techniques, which assist the client in calming from within.

- The American Board of Hypnotherapy
- The International Critical Incident Stress Foundation
